This recipe for a hot chicken sandwich with gravy is a great way to turn leftovers into something new. Combining chicken and gravy between two slices of bread makes this classic hot sandwich. The sandwich is elevated by using your sandwich maker to get a nice toasted finish on the outside.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 cup cooked & shredded chicken
- 4 tbsp gravy
- butter/cooking spray
Directions
- Gather your ingredients and layout your bread.
- Add a 1/2 cup of chicken to 2 of the slices of bread
- Add 2 tbsp of gravy to each sandwich
- Place the remaining slices of bread on top to form your sandwich
- (optional)Butter your bread or spray the inside of your sandwich maker with cooking spray
- Place the sandwich in the sandwich maker and close the lid. Carefully remove from sandwich maker when golden and crisp to your liking. Let stand for 2 minutes before eating.
- Serve with additional gravy for dipping
